When you use Dev WorkDir, you may provide or generate the following information:
Project and Location Data
- Paths to folders you choose to pin or browse (e.g., home directory, project folders, custom locations)
- Names and metadata of files and directories you access through the App
Todo and Note Data
- Todos you attach to files or directories
- Notes or descriptions you add within the App
Preferences
- Editor and terminal preferences
- Sidebar layout and display settings
- Other in-app configuration choices
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
Device Information
- Device type (Mac)
- Operating system version
- App version number
Usage Data
- App feature usage statistics (processed locally)
- Crash logs (used to improve app stability)
1.3 Information We Do Not Collect
We solemnly declare that Dev WorkDir does not collect the following information, nor do we upload your raw data to any third-party servers for user profiling or behavioral analysis:
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as your real name, email address, or phone number
- Your precise geographic location
- Data from other apps on your device, such as contacts, photos, or calendars
- Your financial information (all payments are securely processed by Apple)

- Displaying and navigating your chosen directories and files
- Opening files in your preferred editor
- Opening Terminal in the selected directory
- Persisting your pinned locations and todos across app launches
- Detecting installed command-line tools for integration purposes
2.2 Improving User Experience
- Analyzing app feature usage to optimize product design (related analysis data is processed locally on your device)
- Locating and fixing technical issues through crash logs
- Continuously improving app functionality based on user feedback
3. Data Storage
3.1 Local Storage
Your folder selections, todos, preferences, and other information are primarily stored locally on your Mac. You have full control over this data and can view, modify, or delete it within the App at any time.
3.2 Security-Scoped Bookmarks
To access your chosen folders across app launches while respecting the macOS App Sandbox, Dev WorkDir uses Apple’s Security-Scoped Bookmarks. These bookmarks:
- Are stored locally on your device
- Represent your authorization for the App to access specific folders
- Can be revoked by you at any time by removing the folder from the App or clearing the App’s data
3.3 Data Retention Period
- We retain your data only for as long as you use the App.
- When you delete the App from your device, locally stored data will be automatically deleted.
4. Information Sharing
4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Information
We promise that we will never sell your personal information to any third party.
4.2 Circumstances Where We May Share Your Information
With Your Consent
- We may share your information with third parties only when we have obtained your explicit consent.
Service Providers
- We may use third-party service providers to assist us in operating the App, such as:
- Apple (for App Store payment processing and distribution)
- Analytics tool providers (solely for monitoring app stability, not for personal data profiling)
- These service providers can only process your information according to our instructions and are obligated to protect the security of your information.

- We may disclose your information if required by laws and regulations, or in response to valid requests by governmental authorities.

5.1 Technical Measures
- Dev WorkDir runs inside the macOS App Sandbox, which restricts access to system resources.
- Folder access is granted by you and persisted through Apple’s Security-Scoped Bookmarks.
- Local data is protected by macOS system-level encryption.
- Terminal integration uses low-level Apple Events designed to work within the sandbox.

5.3 Security Disclaimer
Although we employ reasonable security measures, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. If you discover any security vulnerabilities or suspicious activities, please notify us immediately.
6. Your Rights
6.1 Access and Correction
You have the right to access and correct your information. You can view and modify your todos, preferences, and pinned locations within the App at any time.
6.2 Deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of your information. You can delete your data by:
- Removing specific pinned locations or todos within the App.
- Deleting the App from your device’s settings, which will remove all local data.
6.3 Withdrawing Consent
If you previously gave us consent to collect and use your information, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing activities conducted prior to your withdrawal.
6.4 Data Export
Since all your data and records are stored exclusively on your local device, we cannot access, retrieve, or directly provide a copy of this data to you. You can view, manage, or export your data at any time through the in-app features (if provided) or your device system.
7. Children’s Privacy
Dev WorkDir does not provide services to children under the age of 13. We do not intentionally collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take immediate steps to delete such information.
If you are a parent or guardian and become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately.
8. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of these third parties. We recommend that you carefully read the privacy policy of any third-party service before using it.

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by the laws of the developer’s location (People’s Republic of China), with reference to internationally recognized personal information protection standards (such as GDPR, CCPA, PIPL, etc.). Any disputes arising from or relating to the content or execution of this Policy shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation. If no settlement can be reached, the dispute shall be submitted to the competent court in the developer’s jurisdiction.
